Creativity, passion and an acute eye: the three most important qualities to posses while creating art. I believe that to a certain extent, every person experiences those three things. For some, its a natural-born gift that helps them go far, for others its hours and hours of practice. In my case, I think its a little bit of both. From when I was four years old, sculpting castles in the sand box until my junior year soldering jewelry together and painting on three-foot canvases, I have loved art. I see it all around me and suck it in in its completeness. I draw inspiration from the trees on the side of the road, lit by the setting sun. I draw inspiration from the birds flying freely above as I was through fields and fields of flora. I draw inspiration from the depths of my mind, which rarely get revealed to the outside world. It wells up inside of me until I cant keep it in anymore. Art is in my blood and my blood is in my art.
I love the fact that people can look at a piece of paper with different configurations of basically the same lines and interpret something completely dissimilar from the person standing less than a foot away from them. I abhor revealing the meaning of my art because in doing so, the meaning is lost. For me it may mean one thing. For another person, it might mean something totally the opposite. Art is expression and creativity for the people creating it, but for the people receiving it as well.
As far as information about myself. Does it really matter in the end? Will I change your perspective of my art if you see my face or know how many brothers I have? I am a person. A person with a mind and a heart. A person that dangerously welds a pencil with one hand and searches deep into souls all at the same time. I dont really think anything else matters. In fact, its up to you. Who am I? Create me yourself!
